Sounds like once again he's having a good camp. The receivers coach seems to like him. It's hard to give up on hawk because the last coaching staff couldn't even get cook on the field. So there judgement should go out the window.

I don't think Hawkins makes this team. We will probably carry 6 WR's though.

    Britt
    Washington
    DWill
    Gage
    Mariani
    Curtis

I think Gage should be cut though; maybe cut Gage and keep Hawkins (or an outside shot guy like Figurs) just because of Gage's salary and lack of ability to catch a football thrown right at him.

Anyone giving up on DWill is making a plain dumb decision. He had a bad game yesterday in pre-season, so be it. He's a very promising talent.

I'm not sure where this insanity comes from to keep Figurs when he has shown nothing as a return guy and he is nothing as a WR. The guy has been in the league 6 years, this will be his 7th, played for 5 teams and has 5 catches.... 5. His only reason for being in camp is as a backup return guy and we certainly aren't going to keep a backup return guy who can't play WR.

As for Hawkins people were falling all over themselves letting us know that the new coaching staff would finally get this bonified stud on the field where he is supposed to be. Well IMO it is the same old Hawk. He has some skill but apparently can't consistently run the right routes. He went from being a 3-4 guy to probably not making the team.

I have no idea why they brought in Curtis this late in the pre-season. About the only thing that makes sense is that they are not satisfied with who is going to be occupying the last roster spot at WR. Gage and Hawk are probably both gone and even if Curtis doesn't stay they will find someone else who gets cut. Maybe a cheap vet. I guess Gage might even get cut and come back at a lower salary.

Oh, and the worst thing we could do is cut DWill after a bad game since we don't have much depth at WR as it is.

People are giving up on D-Will? I'll be surprised if he isn't a starter by midseason because Nate needs to move to the slot.
