It was a little bit strange to see running back Chris Johnson still in the game for the Titans midway through the fourth quarter yesterday, with Tennessee holding a 37-3 lead in the contest.

The obvious question: Why risk an injury to the team’s $50 million man with the outcome long having been decided?

Titans coach Mike Munchak said one of the reasons was that Johnson wanted to remain in the contest as long as possible. Only twice in the team’s first nine games had Johnson logged more than 20 carries before yesterday.

“He wanted to stay in,” Munchak said. “We haven’t had a whole lot of games where we’ve had that many chances and he had a shot to run 20-plus times. I think he wanted to get a feel for what that felt like.”

Johnson finished the game with 23 carries for 126 yards and a touchdown. Four of those carries came in the fourth quarter, as Johnson was active until the Titans’ final offensive series.

“We were going to take him out a series earlier and he said, `Why don’t you give me one more series?’” Munchak said. “We said that was fine because we were going to run some plays he hadn’t run in a while – counters, some other things he wanted to get a chance to run.

“I think it’s exciting that guys want to keep playing and want to have success. The first four or five weeks, he was only getting eight to 10 carries, so we weren’t going to overdo it by any means.”

He wanted to pad his numbers against a team that was playing very weak. At the end of the year it makes him look like he did his job. Uh oh. Lemme guess, im a hater. That seems to be the only criticism of people critical of cj1yd.

When that gets old they will say we dont like him cuz he is black. Lmao. Whatever works for you. Just plain silly.

You're not a hater if you don't think CJ has this team on his back. You're just an idiot.
