No one hates him.
Disappointment that a fifth round rookie is only a below-average starter at this point?
I think he's outplayed his 5th round value, but I think the problem is people act like he has to be the #1 receiver as if he was a 1st or 2nd round pick, probably because he was unfairly getting that kind of hype in the preseason.
And he will get better. Word on Tajae coming out was that it would take a couple years for him to contribute.
He can improve his lower body strength which will help his burst and help him get out of his breaks better. Improved upper body will help him be more confident with contested balls.
The guy has the worth ethic to work on these things too.
I don't think there's lots of people "hating" on him. More so a couple, active and loud posters doing so.
He's fine for what he is and on track. But yes, being so overhyped to start the year likely contributes. I still want to see us draft Davis as our #1, Matthews as the #2 and Sharp in the slot.
It's not that Boldin is too high of a ceiling, it's that they are a completely different type of player. You're closer with Baldwin but still off. AJ Green is probably the most accurate NFL compassion.
Tajae reminds me of Drew Bennett right now. Keep in mind he wasn't just a rookie, but also just 21. That's very young. He'll definitely bulk up a bit, but he'll never be a TO or a Calvin Johnson. If we're lucky, he'll develop into a taller Isaac Bruce. Fingers crossed.
By people that bought the hype, yeah.
I bought the hype and I was not that disapointed
I didn't fall for the hype, myself.
So he's bigger than you when you "squatted a thousand pounds"
