Why Isn't Anyone Talking About Solomon Thomas?

Well the 3-4 is odd as far as size goes. He's the same size - give or take a few lbs/in - as Daquan Jones. He's not really a traditional space eater NT, he's more of a penetration and disruption DL.

In a 4 man front he's 3 technique, but we wouldn't use him there in our nickel packages because Casey already slides to the 3 technique and is superior IMO. He could play the 1 in nickel, but we'd have to pay him an awful lot to be a situational 1, and rotational 3/5.

 

Just because he's the same size as jones means nothing. He can be a space eater. He should have been playing the 1 tech in a 4-3 anyways. He could play nose for the Titans for sure and as much as they run dime and nickel it would be good.

 

Oh don't get me wrong, I would have loved to get Hankins and slot him in anywhere along the line. I'm just saying I don't see them go after him at this point in FA.

 

I watched him a little in college as I am right here in the Bay Area and I would take him over Allen. Allen had a college All-star squad playing next to him, King Solomon had who? He was the focal point on every play and yet he still beasted.

Not saying Allen is a bad player or anything but I think Thomas has a Jurrell Casey/Aaron Donald feel to him. With that said we need Db's, a Mlb and Wr's.

 

I wish they would though. But with sly Williams I'm thinking the signing is highly unlikely.

 

I would be ok with either.
