This does not make sense. East Lancing is an hour and a half drive from the D while Ann Arbor is right next door and the mother apparently had no issue with him going to Michigan.

I wonder if someone at those other schools was offering her money to steer him to their school. A $cam Newton type thing.

She said something about how MSU wouldn't prepare him for life or the NFL too.

    She was kind of right.

Not really, let's not be silly now. They may not be FSU in terms of producing NFL talent but they are not exactly University of Chicago either.

Former Michigan State players on 2016 NFL Rosters
Aaron Burbridge, WR, San Francisco 49ers
    Bennie Fowler, WR, Denver Broncos
    Brian Hoyer, QB, Chicago Bears
    Connor Cook, Oakland Raiders, QB
    Darqueze Dennard, CB, Cincinnati Bengals
    Dion Sims, TE, Miami Dolphins
    Domata Peko, DT, Cincinnati Bengals
    Drew Stanton, QB, Arizona Cardinals
Garrett Celek, TE, San Francisco 49ers
    Jack Conklin, OT, Tennessee Titans
    Jerel Worthy, DT, Buffalo Bills
    Jeremy Langford, RB, Chicago Bears
    Joel Heath, DT, Houston Texans
    Keith Mumphrey, WR, Houston Texans
Kellen Davis, TE, New York Jets
    Kirk Cousins, QB, Washington Redskins
Lawrence Thomas, DE, New York Jets
    Max Bullough, LB, Houston Texans
    Shilique Calhoun, LB, Oakland Raiders
    Tony Lippett, DB, Miami Dolphins
    Trae Waynes, CB, Minnesota Vikings
William Gholston, DE, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Plus, in terms of academics............. Isn't FSU that school in the south kids apply to just in case they do not get accepted to the schools they really want to go to?

I said he can be outstanding, because he has a high ceiling.

High ceiling and can't miss are mutually exclusive. Can't miss would be high floor.

I was just kind of piggybacking what you said about playing him out of position.

Is Obimelinfonwu the best S in this class? He has ridiculous testing numbers in shorts. But so what? He has great potential. What's the chance he reaches it? What's his floor? There is a term for high ceiling low floor guys.

    Boom or Bust!!!

    Pass!

McDowell is a front runner. He's Zach Brown.

...and DE is about our 14th biggest need and replacing Jones with a smaller guy hurts us against the run.
