The main difference was we stuck with the run against the Packers. Three plays, two dropped passes, and out doesn't give the D much time to rest and refocus.

Copy cat league, get ready to see alot more spread offenses against our defense and a ton of screens. I hope Washburn and Schwartz are working alot of overtime this week :type:

The scheme yesterday looked like what we do against Peyton. Give them the underneath stuff and tackle well and wear down his patience to the point he takes one chance too many.

Favre was getting plenty of big gains through turning 5 yard slants into 18 yard gains and never became impatient.

Yes, Sir ROX you are one who speaks with wisdom! The Hawk was a great returner in college, but this is a whole different game and our special teams don't block too well anyway! Carr's elusiveness and speed make him the choice returner. They should have shifted some DBs around and used Carr in his normal role.

Our success to this point had depended on several things, one of them is field position on kicks. With Hentrich pushing them back to the 5-10 yd line and Carr returning to around the 35-40 yd line, we've had great momentum. That was totally missing yesterday. Most KO returns to 25 yd line (23, 25, 24, 22, 34, 19). Punts weren't pinning them deep (two touchbacks, one to our 46, 24, 14). Also, Bironas didn't put enough KOs in the endzone.

So we need to seriously examine our field positioning on kicks and its overall effect. :bighomer:
