Wow Jeff, you are right on the this year making or breaking, based on how things went for Tony Beckham in particular. Two or 3 games into the season and people were darn near calling for his retirement. I believe Andre and Tyrone will explode literally and regardless of expectations or preceptions, both of these guys playing better, obviously makes the Titans a better team.

It'll be difficult for both, I think. They both know they have one shot left and if the coaches don't see them as being part of the team's longterm plans, they may not get as many opportunities. They'll have to really show something on the practice field and take advantage of any opportunity they get.

Woolfolk has the better shot to stick, IMO. Beckham is gone and Gardner may be as well. The Titans haven't brought in a vet CB (so far) which is a good sign for him.

Calico has Givens now ahead of him and three younger guys breathing down his neck. He could dramatically improve and not have a shot for a longterm deal if the young guys continue to improve.

The pressure is on, but Calico is really in a rough spot. Even if he does really well, and gets another offer, it won't be a great one.

Bennett is off-contract at the end of the season, so it isn't out of the question that Calico may get a good offer.

Remember, that at the end of the season, all the rookies just lost all the energy, injuries cropt up (Ronnie Brown), and they got stressed that they couldn't do the things they did at the start of the season(Pacman).

Anyways, good article Jeff, appreciate it!!!

If he could somehow put up similar numbers to McCareins in 2003 (47 catches, 800 yards) he would make real good money IMO with his size and speed. The problem is going to be #1, getting on the field with two decent WRs ahead of him and 2nd year jocking for playing time. Also we have a group of real good TEs. Problem #2 is the QB.

Calico's best bet might be to have Volek as his QB where he can make some big catches. Long TD catches would help his pocket book.

I don't think we can count on Jones much until mid-season or later. But Roby and Williams should be better and, if they are productive, will get opportunities. That all eats into what Calico will get unless he begins to play on a much higher level.
