MM8 and his fumbling needs to stop. However, I think he's trying to make things happen with those ints. On the int before half time, I have two issues with that call; 1. why not kneel and go into the half with seconds left 2. why call that play and have the WR the pattern into the middle of the field and Defense. Blunders...

    Poor gameplanning
    Poor playcalling
    Poor WR play
    trading DGB
Mariota making more mistakes than he should
We can't do anything about the injuries

That list isn't in any particular order but seems rather simple to me.

Well, it's rather simple. They playcalled it to be a deep in because it would be 'less' defended with the expectation that they would focus more on covering deep and the sidelines. We throw a 20 yds pass, spike it, and then maybe another short pass to give us a chance at a hail mary or a very long fg. That's the thinking behind it.

If you watch the play, you'll notice the wr's aren't going full speed off the line. You don't go hard up the field and the DB just is waiting for you to make a break. And then when you break, you don't attack the ball and come back to get it so you let a defender go thru you to pop it up and INT.

So when the WR's aren't going all out, don't run the correct routes (at times), and don't run precise routes, you end up with little separation. If the QB puts the ball on you, it becomes a contested throw. If they then don't attack the ball and come back to it, you won't catch it and turn some of those into INT's - which we have.

Given this problem, what else can Mariota do? Stop throwing the ball to 1 of our 2 starting WR's? The other is a rookie who's struggling himself at times.

This is not to same Mariota has been great and it's everyone else's fault. He's thrown a couple of INT's he shouldn't have thrown (bad pass or not seeing a defender) and is still too careless with the ball which has resulted in fumbles. That's on him! But he's also still playing his first 16 games as a QB so he's still gonna make some of those mistakes. It's not helping that he's in a new offense already and his aerial weapons without DW and KW have been sorely lacking so far.

McDermott definitely deserves a head coaching gig.

I never said such a thing. What I said is Mariota's turnovers overshadows all else.

Since this scheme WORKED vs the best defense in the league at points in the game, it's pretty clear to me that seven turnovers in three games is a huge reason this team is 1-3.

You can't do anything about injuries but it's a factor.

The Mariota mistakes, by far, are the main reason this team hasn't scored more.

This system was implemented to "make it easier" for Mariota. That hasn't happened. How much if that is that on Mariota? He's paid to make plays so a lot. But the coach is paid to manage games, players, schemes etc and his system is being used and isn't producing the results it was implemented to do. He IS responsible for a significant portion of the problem. For me, this system and play calling (Mularkey) are EQUALLY responsible for the lack of production (14 pets/game 31st in league).

Who are you crediting for the success of the offense in the first half of the Vikings game, the game winning drive vs the Lions and the almost game-tying drive last Sunday? How about the first 100-yard rusher in a boatload of seasons?
