Vince Young at risk by not picking up offense quickly enough

Even while saying he’s satisfied with how quarterback Vince Young has looked so far, Bills coach Chan Gailey admitted Young is having trouble picking up his offense.

Gailey has gradually added to his offense over the last two seasons, putting more in as starter Ryan Fitzpatrick has been able to adjust.

“He has done a very good job, considering the circumstances,” Gailey said of Young, via Tim Graham of the Buffalo News. “He had to come in and try to learn all of that stuff. It is very difficult.

“It would not have been as hard two years ago, but we are in so much more of an advanced stage now than we were two years ago. He is trying to learn what the base concepts are and how we have advanced to where we are today without the benefit of going through the baby steps.”

Making it worse for Young is the fact everyone else there is caught up. Fitzpatrick and all the meaningful skill position players have been in the system since Gailey arrived.

Gailey also admitted that background gives quarterback Tyler Thigpen, in his second year with the Bills, an advantage in the battle for the backup job.

Having already established there’s probably only room for one of them, Young better catch up quick, or he’ll be looking for another (dream) team.

Is Vince Young still part of the Titans or have they released or trade him already? If anyone has a clue or link i would like that. Plus can the Titans sign Dick Lebeau from Pit. to coach the Defense? Thanks

I wonder if grindtime knows how legendary his initial post became. I bet the guy hasn't logged in in like a year and half.
