Some of the beating he took was from him either holding on to the ball, coverage sacks, or trying to make something out of nothing. One of the things he is going to have to learn to do is get rid of the ball no matter what after so many seconds. He so competitive that I think it's hard for him to just throw the ball away but he's going to have to learn to do that or his career will be shortened.

Well, I can think of one time he did it and it was almost picked off. As a matter of fact the the color guy said it was a terrible throw and he shouldn't have thrown it. lol.

    I get what you're sayin'

Well, Mariota has officially passed VY for most passing TDs for a rookie in franchise history. VY had the record with 12, MM is at 13 ... halfway through the season

Anyone think he has a shot at the rookie record of 26?

I'm going to say he gets 20+ but not 26. Missing those 2 games probably kept him from the record. But it's still possible.

First rookie ever to have a 350+ yard 4TD no INT game and he's done it twice in 6 games.

    13 TDs/6 games = 2.16 TDs per game.

assuming he stays healthy for the next 8 games, and keeps up the same pace:

    2.16 TDs per game * 8 games remaining + 13 TDs = 30.28 TDs

So he is still on pace to break the record of 26 ... however, I think it will be tough. missing those 2 games really hurts his chances. If he played all 16, then I think he easily breaks it

Not to mention, we face the Jags TWO more times this year. He should dominate their defense.
