When will MM surpass VY, Locker, and Mett in most passing TDs in a season?

    I know Mariota didn't have the best game Sunday, but in only his 2nd NFL start he already has 6 passing TDs.

    When looking at all of our 'young' QBs that we have had since 2006 (Locker, VY, Mett), MM is WAY ahead of their pace. In fact, none has thrown for more than 12 TDs in a single season. Below is the career best for passing TDs in a season for each QB.

    Young - 12

    Locker - 10

    Mett - 8

    At this rate, MM could pass for more TDs in the 1st 4 games than our last 3 QBs ever did in a single year.

    Even better, how long til Mariota surpasses them all together? I easily see him reaching 30 TD's, as things stand now he's on track for 48 this season...

    I doubt he gets to 48 TDs this year ... 30 is a possibility though. So I think there is a chance he could surpass the season best by all 3 combined (which is both sad and exciting lol)

    I wouldn't put it passed him tho, he regularly threw for 3 TD's in college, and if he maintains 3 TD's each week he'd hit 48 eventually.

    Fun fact: Marcus Mariota has never not thrown for 30 TD's in a season while in college

    Those previous QB TD numbers are so depressing to look at. I never realized those numbers were that low I guess. Finally, we have a real QB. It feels good. Gives me a reason to watch every Sunday

    If he throws 3tds a week we are in the playoffs 100 percent. Any O that averages over 21 has to be in the playoffs lol.

    It could lead to that but the Saints averaged 25 points a game and they didn't make the playoffs. But then the Cardinals only averaged 19 and they made it so who the hell knows... This is exactly why you watch football, anything can happen..

    The problem is- teams will adjust to him. It's already happening from wk 1 to wk 2. He looked like a completely different player.
