Let me just say that reading off of a card is not that hard, but this interviewer/sportscaster does an ABYSMAL job at it hahaha.

That being said, Pierre-Paul would be a big gamble for our organization. We desperately need LEADERS because we, once again, have one of the youngest defensive squads in football. I'm not sold on our DC and truly believe that it was his incompetence that lead to our 0-6 start. Just my opinion...

Carlos Dunlap- Look at the recent DE's to come out of Florida, Jarvis Moss, Derrick Harvey, none of these guys have translated to the NFL. Harvey is starting to come around but not much.

Dunlap. He has character problems. Hopefully the Titans learned their lesson with Pac-Man. Plus as BigD73OT said, look at the DEs from Florida recently: Jarvis Moss and Derrick Harvey; both great college players but not so much NFL.

I'd rather have Pierre-Paul than Dunlap. But i'd rather trade down 10 picks and get Everson Griffen and get a 3rd or 4th extra in the deal :) !

Dunlap. And I don't even care about character issues.

And not picking Brandon Graham. Or seeing him be picked by the Colts or Texans to play with either of their monsters.

I'm going to go with Carlos Dunlap and Brandon Spikes..
Carlos- Just looking at his swagger kinda scares me. He really does look lazy at times. I'm just wondering how he will act when he gets his million dollar payday. If he is lazy now, just wait until he gets the big time paychecks.
Spikes- I really think he looked good playing with a tough, smash mouth defense such as Florida. He flourished in the SEC because of how they play in that Conference. I personally just don't think he is a sideline to sideline type LB. He will get exposed in the passing game in the NFL (mark my word)

Also, Andre Woolfolk scares me lol FLASHBACK MOMENT

I almost listed Spikes, but I'm thinking he'll probably drop. What if we could get him in the 3rd would that change you're mind about him? I've pondered this myself and haven't come up with an answer yet.

Dunlap - With his experience and playing time and athleticism/size, he should have destroyed everyone...but he disappears for long stretches and IF he wasn't playing with the talent around him, he might have done worse. Low motor=low chance for reaching his potential.

Everson Griffen - Excellent size/speed guy but very raw and inexperienced. Produced well for limited playing time. Not sure how well he can diagnose plays.

JPP - Excellent size/speed guy but didn't dominate as you'd expect. Even worse, had Selvie on the other side whom teams were focused on stopping. Little experience and even with just his athleticism, should have better stats. He DOES play hard every play, just a much better athlete than football player right now.

Mays - He could be a monster in the right scheme and with a great DC who knows how to use him to maximize his strengths and limit his weaknesses. We haven't shown the ability to adjust our D for any single player (except maybe Bulluck). Either Mays would have to improve greatly at his weaknesses or we'd have to adapt our D or he'd be a poor choice for us.

Haden - I think he's a little over-rated considering he was playing with a LOT of talent around him and a strong pass rush. Him running around a 4.6 would be a major problem. I's fine if you're gonna play 90% zone but then you don't wan to ake a guy who can only play zone middle of rnd 1. We could take Thompson later in the draft if that's what we want.

Kindle - Not sure he could play in our system. Very fast in a straight line, not great at reading or covering.

Wooten - too much of a tweener for me. Best to be a DE in a 3-4 or he'll have to add some weight and play DT but he's very tall for that (hard to stay low when you're 6-6).

Spikes - He doesn't play anywhere near his level of hype (and I'm a Florida fan). He takes plays off and is sometimes content to be blocked out of a play. I wouldn't want any part of Dunlap or Spikes before round 3 at the earliest and even then, I think there are players I'd take first. We need overachievers and leaders...not slackers.

    Great post Gut!!

I agree with everything, other than:

Everson Griffen - he is very raw. But is an amazing athlete, had a 3.3 GPA, and might not have the best football IQ but he can learn. Reminds me of a young Dwight Freeney. Griffen is a work-out warrior and is my #2 DE.

Wootton - He's huge. 6'7 270 I think. Could play DT/DE, just not for the Titans at 16. Wouldn't mind him at pick 25+, he might fall to the 2nd.

Haden - In my eyes is still the #1 CB. Sure he posted a crappy 40, but he'll make up for it. Did play on FLA though and they have alot of zone.

Kindle - No. Would be a waste of pick. We have Witherspoon, McRath, and Thornton. The only OLBs I would want is Weatherspoon or McClain.

    Spikes - Read Kindle's.

JPP - Is he a one-year wonder? #3 DE IMO.

Mays - Physical freak. Horrible coverage skills. Sloppy tackling at times. Would be a safety not a corner, reminds me of Sean Taylor.
