Well with team having plenty of money to do things it will be interesting to see who is signed, let go and who will be brought in from free agency. You also have the draft too to consider here in the next few weeks.

What moves do you think should be made and who do you think should be kept or let go.Last but not least who would be good to bring in from free agency?

Spend it on the lines. Good lines would have given us 3-4 more wins this past season.

Hopefully good FA's that won't break the bank and could benefit from the start.

I'm thinking if this team plays their cards right this offseason we can defintely contend in 2012.We need to do some adjustments with our offensive line plus CJ will have a full offseason under his belt.Try and bring back Cortland and do some things with our defense like getting some guys who can get to the quarterback and cause havoc.

If we have a good draft in 2012 like we did in 2011 that would be great because the good teams build through the draft. Also we will get some good quality players in here and spread our money around on different positions of need instead of breaking the bank for one guy.

The 2011 Philadelphia Eagles are a good example of this strategy not working bringing in all these high priced veterans. Also that backfired on the NY Jets also in 2011.

Who would've imagined before the season after all these moves were made that both Philly and NY would not even make the postseason.Daniel Snyder and Washington are a good example that spending lots of money on high priced free agents does not work.

I would add Cliff Avril to the list of potential guys. Sounds like the Lions might not be able to afford to keep him and he could be a nice consolation prize if the Titans don't get Mario Williams (and they probably won't).

Another possibility is Osi Umenyiora. He wants a new contract and the Giants might decide to just trade him since they are really stacked on the defensive line and probably can't afford to give him a huge deal. The Titans could maybe trade a 2nd or 3rd round pick for him and then give him a big new deal.

I understand the draft is important every year. With all these big name and good players, we need to stir the pot in FA. It's been a while since I've seen high caliber players in FA. We can actually get good players, but of course if they don't break the bank. If we sign a few players in key positions we're wanting to improve, we wouldn't really have to stress over who to get in the draft such as trading picks to get a better pick.

I think we need to concentrate on FA a little more than we have in the past especially now we have cap room.

    Keepers
    SS - Jordan Babineaux
    LB - Tim Shaw
    DT - Malcolm Sheppard
    DE - Dave Ball
    C - Fernando Velasco
    T - Michael Otto
    LS - Ken Amato

Scheduled Free Agents we should let walk
    SS - Chris Hope
    FS - Michael Griffin
    DL - Jason Jones
    DL - Marques Douglas
    DE - William Hayes
    DE - Jacob Ford
    OLB - Patrick Bailey
    MLB- Barrett Ruud
    WR - Lavelle Hawkins
    RG - Jake Scott
    FB - Ahmard Hall

Guys I'd like back, but don't know if front office agrees
    CB - Cortland Finnegan
    WR - Donnie Avery

That's 20 holes we have to date with 7 available draft spots. The guys I say let walk, they're all on the decline, no reason to pay average-good players top money. None of them are worth another contract from us. It's not personal, it's business, and re-signing those guys isn't a smart business move, wouldn't be a smart football move either.

We are going to have a lot of holes to fill, and that's why we really can't go out and sign big name FA's. Contrary to what some people think, one big name player is not better than 4 or 5 role players. The only time signing big name players works is when all of your holes are pretty much filled. We aren't there yet. Maybe if we can fill all the holes first and still have some money left over you can go out and get an expensive player, but chances are all the big time FA's will be gone.

We really need to use FAs to fill the holes on the roster, so that way we can use the draft to take BPA every round.

Normally I'd agree with this, but in our case we have no game changers on defense. Acquiring one of those would be a major win in the offseason.

McCarthy, Ayers, Casey, or McCourty might at some point become game changers, but right now theyre just dependable starters. We need a Troy Polamalu-Ed Reed type of DB, a Clay Matthews-Ray Lewis type LB or a Jared Allen-Vince Wilfork type D-Linemen. If we can get one of them in free agency, we gotta try and get one.
