He cares a great deal about Knoxville. But I somewhat agree and I am still bitter.

Late to the party, but yea if we had Peyton last year, we'd probably be getting sued by his estate for involuntary manslaughter.

There's no doubt in my mind when Peyton was making his decision, he looked over our O-Line and laughed.

If I've been bltching about our O-Line now for 3 years, imagine what Peyton Manning saw when checking them out...

IF we somehow landed him, no we'd still suck, cause he'd be dead or paralyzed.

Didn't want to start a new thread for this. But I was listening to 104.5 yesterday (maybe the day before, can't remember) and they had one of the local beat writers on there. They were talking about what if Peyton had signed here. The beat writer (can't recall if it was Wyatt, McCormick, or whoever) said that he had it on good authority that there were two big reasons why Peyton chose Denver over Tennessee:

    1) John Elway
    2) He did not like Chris Palmer's offense

Had anyone else heard about the Palmer thing before? It was news to me. Did I just miss the boat on that one? I know we all joked about that being a reason but I hadn't heard it from a legitimate source before. The beat writer said he got the info from a source who he trusts implicitly.

Regardless, I suppose it's crying over spilled milk at this point. It just really sucks to think that scrub Chris Palmer was potentially a major factor in us not landing Manning.

    Well....

    Here's what I think:

2012-13: Still would have choked against the Ravens, or someone else in playoffs

2013-14: Bud dies midway through season, So bud does not see a SB win, regardless.

That's how I see it panning out for Bud's plan to win a Super Bowl, had it gone as planned. Was not meant to be, even with the Manning signing.

True. Still it's tough not to wonder how far we'd have gone this year if we had him. Would it be us in the SB next weekend (probably not, but also not out of the realm of possibility). I wish Bud had got to see us win a SB. But that's not possible now. But for the millions of fans out there it still would've been nice for us to have landed Manning.

We weren't getting Manning, our FO then had their plan, got distracted by the Manning sweepstakes, and fumbled their careers away.

Luckily we now have a competent GM and HC.

So to all the guys pinning over Manning, we were never really in the race for him. Its ok hes not here, we will be ok.

I was thinking about what Denver would/will be like when Peyton retires. Peyton makes that team go. I could be wrong, but I think Denver completely drops off after Peyton is gone. They have some good receivers, but I think what makes them good is Peyton. Defense is decent, but having Manning on offense gives them plenty of rest.

Nah John Elway has them going places with or without Manning. There will obviously be some drop off once Manning retires, but Elways has a good football head.

We would be playing in the Superbowl in 2 weeks. And people would be praising CJ instead of saying he is done and lets cut him.
