Best place is to go the state's real estate page, and search last name by county. From there you can see whom still owns property in the area (as well as how much they paid):grrhee:

Another fun thing to do is to go to the state comptroller site and see how much money has gone unclaimed by your local superstars, for example, You will still see Brian Bosworths uncashed final check from Seattle as money owed to the Boz. You will be surprised at how much money is sitting out there. Chris Chandler is listed at $9,900. Tracy Mcgrady is owed over $3,000 in Tampa Fl from a lawyer, a power company, and bell telephone. You will usually find players on the list simply because they pick up and move on a moments notice, leaving a wealth of unclaimed money all over the place. Lorenzo White is owed money in Fl from state Farm fire insurance. Interesting. Vince Young is much tougher to figure out, but quite possibly owed quite a bit of money in Texas. Hard to tell. Steve McNair is owed several thousand in Texas as well. lots of fun.
