TE's are the one position nobody around Tennessee is talking about the team drafting. There are 20 draft worthy TE's in this draft class. Only Eric Ebron and Jace Amaro are expected to be taken before we pick again in the 2nd round.

With only Craig Stevens and Taylor Thompson backing up starter Delanie Walker, I would say we need to improve the TE positsion. There's been a lot of talk about saving $2.4M by cutting Stevens and his 2 catches for 5-yards, so there could be a hole to fill come free agency.

    Here is a list of expected free agent TE's;
    Name...............Age

    Jimmy Graham 27
    Ben Hartsock 34
    Dante Rosario 29
    Kellen Winslow 31
    Bear Pascoe 28
    Anthony McCoy 26
    Dustin Keller 29
    Jeff King 31
    Mike Caussin 27
    Mike McNeill 26
    Dorin Dickerson 26
    Chase Coffman 27
    Michael Palmer 26
    Dennis Pitta 29
    Nate Byham 26
    Jeron Mastrud 26
    Kory Sperry 29
    Alex Smith 32

none of these TE's are good fits for us IMO, so I think the draft is the palce to find our next TE.

I agree..I like Ebron more than Amaro, but I would want them to trade down and get at least a 3rd or another 2nd or something and pick him up if so. Otherwise, if they nab a 3rd rounder, get someone with big upside and at least start worthy, should D Walker go down. It is REALLY important to have that depth with this league being heavy pass nowdays.

Maybe we could trade Stevens to the Rams and get that 3rd round pick back, Fisher loves the Stevens family, he signed Craig's little brother to the Rams in 2013

That would be awesome dude...I can't stress enough how much we need to get that extra pick back...So many holes/replacements ya know? I don't hate Stevens at all, but freeing up that money and getting with better speed and playmaking ability would be clutch. We can't just depend on Walker being 100% for 16 games....Friggin' TT, I swear..lol

Right now we are set at TE, Walker is great as a blocking TE, however we might want to draft a TE with better hands, I remember Walker dropped quite a few balls over the course of the season. Great blocker though, and wouldn't mind bringing in Dustin Keller, who has better hands but isn't as good of a blocker. The two will mesh together well with Walker's blocking and Keller's hands.

The rams had TERRIBLE play out of their 3 TE's, this idea could actually work.

Who has Fisher's new phone number? I need to make a call.

Can we just roll with Delanie Walker instead of trading away future draft picks on busters like Craig Stevens and Jared Cook?

I mean it would be great to draft the next Jimmy Graham or Antonio Gates. But there are always serviceable free agents out there. Just not a priority position imo.

No doubt less of a priority than other positions...but tell me you are comfortable with Stevens and Thompson if Walker goes down?....Exactly. I say they look for a solid free agent, or roll in the draft somewhere mid to late. Someone that is more of a receiving TE with decent hands and speed to complement Delanie.
