Were we supposed to be better than 3-5?

    But we had the 8th best scoring defense last year. It doesn't make as much sense as you'd think. Yes, we lost Finnegan. That's a tough loss and it definitely had a major impact, but to go from 8th to the bottom (now 31st) in scoring defense in one season is a bit confusing.

    Finnegan didn't fit well with Gray's prevent-the-hail-Mary-every-single-play defense. Finnegan was up close & personal. Titans need to go back to that. Now.

    Gray was the DC last year too... :tj: - still doesn't answer such an extreme drop off in production.

    What happened was that Gray implemented his defense during the off season. Last year, during the season, they had to run a lot fo what they were already used to. Then this off season they implemented his full defense. Either the players arent picking it up, or they arent being put in the right spot to highlight their talents. Im hoping its the later of the options, which is on Gray

    A good DC, makes this defense better than it was last season.

    Speculation, but makes sense.

    I do like that he put Ayers on the line, we will see how it works out over time.
