I agree with 8 of those picks but i think UT beats Western Kentucky at home and northwestern at home will be too much for Syracuse.

Why would the same program that lost games to sun belt teams last year be able to come into Neyland and beat UT in front of 106,000 fans? I don't see it.

I pick Western Kentucky over Tennessee because of the Vols horrific defense against Petrino's offense, albeit in it's first year. Furthermore because of the loss of Tyler Bray and average running game versus what was a pretty good run defense at WK last season. I think it would be close and nothing against Tennessee, but I always pick like Ive got money riding on it.

I think that Syracuse/NW game will be close too but I took Syracuse because of their returning run game. I think if they can control the game on the ground they can suck the life out of Ryan Field and come away with a win.

I believe WKU's DL is considered a weakness this year. UK racked up alot of rushing yards on them and UK's OL and RB are nowhere near the level of UT's. UT has a very good OL. Decent front 7 on def. Secondary is young. Can't really go on last year's defense since they were a 3-4 and had a horrible DC. This year they went back to a 4-3. I by no means think UT is a lock though. I think will be a good game. If UT can run the ball, I like our chances alot.

This is not the Vince Dooley clusterf*ck vols but a top 25 caliber team with a real coach playing at home in front of 106,000 fans.

I honestly don't consider Tyler Bray a loss. Getting rid of Bray and Dooley was a big step up.

Tyler Bray was a million dollar talent with a .02 cent brain. Real shame because he could have been great. Folded under pressure.

We still don't know what Butch Jone's vols are about yet. AP wasn't really much of a test. I do know he is a better and much more proven coach than Dooley and the def can't be any worse than it was last year.

I really look forward to when the Volunteers are back like they used to be. What a great program and an intimidating stadium environment when its in full effect

Butch Jones will recruit well and put a quality competitive team on the field. How he will do against Florida, Bama, Georgia and South Carolina remains to be seen but he will have to be a significant improvement over Dooley who was horrible.
