We should have signed Albert while we had the chance.

I think Fisher and MR played their cards right by waiting and tagging Albert. We all know Albert before last year played when he wanted to and had some trouble staying healthy. He proved last year he could dominate the game even though he missed some time and this year hes doing the same thing and hes healthy. IMO i think we havent seen the best of Albert yet and thats scary

I'll get back on my high horse and say this is directly related to us having only 7 D-Linemen active the last 3 weeks and essentially being down to 6 linemen by halfway through the 1st quarter.

Our whole defensive line thrives on being fresh and having a good rotation. Obviously we do miss KVB, but we miss the 7th/8th guy in the rotation even more in my view. Look for us to activate 8 linemen this week and for Albert to have another big gain.

To Gloat's original point, I agree that we would be better off if we had signed Albert and I was REALLY hoping that we would. But we didn't and we are where we are.

But I am not giving up on our ability to sign him in the off-season. The price has obviously gone up, but that doesn't mean we have no chance to sign him. We're a successful team in his home town and despite everyone's whining, we have shown that we we pay reasonable contracts to our key players (see Roos, Stewart, Finnegan extensions)

I agree but i also have noticed that hes getting double teamed almost every play. In that Green Bay game i noticed they pinched the protection from the inside out and left the DE basically one on one with the tackle or running back. The very first play when Kearse knocked Rodgers down is a prime example. They were so worried with our inside rush they forgot about Kearse. We're going to see alot more of this until KVB comes back. Albert just has to be patient

We are 8-0 right now. Let's worry about finishing strong w/ what we have on the team this year. You can't knock the management for what MIGHT happen next year. You can't argue that the decision to franchise AH hasn't had a very positive impact THIS year. If we get a Super Bowl, then the odds are even higher that AH is gone next year- and honestly so are the chances that he will play as motivated and be as productive as he has been this year.

And I agree that AH is part of a D-line UNIT that contributes synergistically. Without a solid D-line (and D-line coach), I have no doubt he would not be AS productive as he is this year.

He's basically been double-teamed for much of his career.

He has been double teamed his whole career but my point is without the outside threat next to him(KVB) teams can afford to slide protection from the inside out. AH basically has to worry about beating double teams and getting chipped by the tackle or RB which Green Bay did alot of this past week. Tony has done a pretty solid job beating his guy the majority of the time which hes gonna have to do. Ball and Ford have done a solid job but we can all agree that KVB plays on another level

I noticed in the Colts game he wasn't always being double teamed and couldn't get a bit of penetration against whoever it was that was blocking him.
    But... rare instances.
