Yall need to get over this love you have for Bulluck, he isnt what he use to be and will go down hill from here. We need a younger guy with a drive like Vanden Bosch who can hit people so hard they dont want to play him again. Bulluck is not a LB who scares people.

A veteran Team Leader who makes a couple of decent plays is all he is imo. And he scares the crap out of me when he recovers a fumble, running around holding the ball out with 1 hand. I think we can replace him with the right guy and nobody will miss him.

You need to get over your love of big hits and focus on what Bulluck actually brings to this team. When a player leads the team in tackles practically every year as a starter... you'll miss him if he leaves.

yeah, we need someone who can lay the wood like roy williams and miss more tackles than he makes and gives up more big plays as a result of going for the knock out shot.

there's more to football than hitting hard.

bulluck isn't the play maker he was three years ago, but he isn't costing us anything on the field either. he's still a very solid player.

    Let's try a reality check...

As one poster mentioned, Bulluck's tackle #'s are down because the entire D was playing at a high level. He is STILL playing at a high level. If you watch the Titans, you might notice that Bulluck plays more than any LB or Defensive lineman we have. He plays in our base, nickel and dime packages and does NOT get rotated out like our DL does. So he's gotta roam sideline to sideline to make tackles and stop the run and he's our best coverage LB.

Our defense is currently built around the same philosphy as Tampa's used to be under Dungy. Have a great front 4, athletic and fast LB's who can run and cover and play a lot of zone coverage. Where in that description does a big pass rushing OLB come in? He doesn't. Would I love to have a defensive player of the year on our D, YES. But you may as well be comparing Merriman to Finnegan...they do completely different things. Plus, who's gonna replace Bulluck in dime and nickel packages? Not Merriman. Not Clay Matthews Jr. SO....

To review, Bulluck doesn't need replacing unless he's gonna want a gazillion dollars next year. If he does and we grab a LB early in the draft, we'll know why. But he's still an above average OLB, the leader of our D, the best coverage LB we have...and you'll be hardpressed to find an OLB that could step into all of those roles.

Clay Matthews Jr. has played like a DE in college more than a LB. You think he's just gonna be a great coverage LB all of a sudden? And he's too small to play DE...so he projects to a pass rushing OLB in a 3-4 D!

We don't run a 3-4 and are not gonna run one this year!!!

Actually Bulluck and Thornton are both playing at a very high level still and they perfectly match the type of defense we have been running. Of course if we had Merriman he wouldn't replace Bulluck or Thornton. He would be played DE and I don't think he is the same player off of his roids.

We have a far more urgent need at CB. Right now we are one injury away from having a guy over there with zero experience and I'd rather have a 1st round CB trying to play over there than what we have on the roster now. The other thing is Harper is way more close to being at the end of his career IMO than Bulluck.

CB is the most urgent need we have right now.

Jesse,Bulluck plays weak side LB in case you dont know what that means, which evidently you dont by reading your posts,it means that he's lining up away from the strength of the offense. So the fact that he's rackin up 100 plus tackles from the opposite side of the field where the play goes the majority of the time speaks volumes about his game. We all agree hes not the same guy he was a few years ago but hes definitely not hurting the defense by any stretch of the imagination when hes out there.

The perfect LB for this team is someone who plays great in coverage, tackles well, and is athletic. In case someone hasn't noticed, we don't blitz our LB's very much. So a hard hitting LB who blitzes and is a better run supporter isn't a need for the Titans. We don't need to replace Bulluck yet. Is he getting older? Yes, but he still plays at a high level.

Keith bulluck has been a starter for 7 years and has played at a pro bowl level every single year. That's not always going to be true and we do have to prepare for the day when he won't be out there but i never thought that someone who calls himself a titan fan would be bashing this man.

Of all the players on the titan's roster keith bulluck is the last guy i would complain about. I guess he's so damn good we tend to take him for granted.

Only a slimeball raven's fan would say he hits like a girl. A firing squad of rubber bullets is not a punishment worthy of such an assinine comment.
