I think I'll have to argue on that one then Gloat. I wouldn't say his performance was average. I thought the Packers D (which I had underestimated) really focused on him yesterday, and it showed. He was getting hit in the backfield often and didn't have a lot of lanes the whole day. 87 yards and a 3.7 YPC isn't bad considering that. Add the 72 yards receiving and it wasn't an average day overall.

I'd like you to explain what you mean by all purpose yards are overrated. I agree that I think there's a double standard on this board, that some people tend to diminish people like Bush who consistently don't have a great YPC rushing, but do add a good overall output of all-purpose yards. I don't think CJ will be a Westbook/Faulk sort of back, and I don't think that the "he's an all-purpose back down the road" idea flies. He has exhibited some mediocre hands, and I just don't see Fish and Heim using him as that. Maybe as a decoy, but not as a slot guy go to receiver.

One thing I notice with CJ is that a single block can often turn a 10-15 yard gain into a 30+ one. It just doesn't happen much. For instance, on his long gain of 14 yesterday, I watched as (I think it was Roos) sort of stopped blocking down field, and the defender nearest him came in and took out Johnson. I watched it 3-4 times, and I believe it could have simply ended the game (as it was in OT).

We need to make sure we do not confuse 'all-purpose yards' with 'yards from scrimmage'

Reggie Bush returns kicks and punts, so when he gets 20-50 yards or more per punt or kickoff, that is going to skew his numbers considerably. ALL of CJ's yards are from scrimmage, and none are gimmie yards.

In response to Gloat, it's nice to have an "average" day rushing and still get 89 yards rushing splitting carries. In his defense, he is ONLY talking about rushing, and not receiving where CJ really picked up some yardage chunks.

All in all, to play "average" and have easily the best 4-4 team in football still come up short against us feels really good.

Has there been an explanation as to why Lendale vanished from the game until the very end?

After that run he wasn't seen again until the last minutes.

You can't tell GoT to not do something because he'll just do it anyway.

Sorry. It's just exciting/frustrating at the same time. I guess that's the way it works though. If he had great vision/balance he'd be in the endzone every touch with his speed.

I find gloat guilty of bloviating and meandering in the most nonsensical way humanly possible! He will be sentenced to a cage match against ralph macchio!

Chris johnson is on pace for a 1400 yard season with a 4.9 ypc average. How does anyone criticise that?

He is not reggie bush he is a downfield runner. Reggie can not and probably never will crack 4 yards a carry for a season.
