Titans tight end Delanie Walker will begin training camp in the team’s Physically Unable to Perform list after recent arthroscopic knee surgery.

Receiver Kevin Walter will also begin on PUP after having arthroscopic surgery on his back.

Walker, signed by the Titans this offseason after playing previously with the 49ers, initially injured his knee during offseason workouts. He returned for the team’s minicamp in June, but the Titans opted to clean out the knee so Walker wouldn’t have issues later in the season.

Walter, formerly with the Texans, didn’t practice during June OTAs because of his back. He also had a scope.

Indications are both players could be in a position to play in preseason games in late August, and should be ready for the season opener at Pittsburgh on September 8.

Also, back-up safety Robert Johnson is expected to begin training camp on PUP while recovering from surgery last winter.

The Titans report for training camp on Wednesday. The team’s first practice is scheduled for tomorrow.
