He went out with 8 minutes left in the 3rd quarter in a tie game. He was 11 for 14 for 120 yards with one pick (one of the worst calls i've seen if i remember correctly) up until then. The point I was trying to make was their was no game where I felt their was really even a chance of him stepping up in the 4th quarter to win the game. We saw in the 3 straight losses without haynesworth him step up his game but just couldn't win with the way the defense was playing.

A guy put on the cover of Madden has 9 TD's, 17 interceptions. And, I can't remember the details, but the Titans were either the lowest scoring team, fewest offensive TD's, in a regular season to go onto the playoffs. I think that alone goes to show that Vince was not the leader of this team in 2007. 2006, he definitely proved me wrong, and I hoped he'd do the same in 2007. I hope he can improve his horrid QB rating from last year with Crumper and CJ. How are his expectations relative to his results not overrated?

I thought he looked good in primetime against the Broncos while the numerous drops had to be frustrating. But, to score 6 points, we had to be the only team during the season not to score a single TD vs the Bengals...even during a prevent defense the entire 4th quarter.

Uh, maybe you don't understand what overrated is. While you may have high expectations of a player who is overrated, it is not those expectations alone that make him overrated. It's how highly you rate him that makes him overrated. You cannot overrate expectations.

Vince Young is overhyped AND overrated, as of this point in his career. I think this year will be a HUGE year for him, its **** or get off the pot time. He's got to step up his game, and I think Crumpler will do his part to make sure Vince gets back on track. We have an underrated offense coming into 08, IMO...But as for the past year, Vince needs to step up and be the leader we drafted.

My idea of VY this year is he's going to be awesome. The Dinger signing was very underrated and even though the offensive additions weren't big time names they'll make the same impact.

I just think some of you guys expectations are entirely too high for a 3rd year qb. As has been shown in so many threads there are very few qbs who had significantly better first 2 years in the nfl. Most of us expected vince to not start the first year and we would be in a rebuilding process and probably only win 4 or 5 games again. Then in 2007 most expected to be vince's first year as a starter and struggle while the titans were rebuilding. I know when vince was drafted I was not expecting us to go 8-8 and then 10-6. He was expected to be a 3 year project and we're going into year 3. Maybe his rookie year brought to high of expectations for some of the fans but that doesn't mean those expectations were realistic. If you say he's overrated you apparently don't watch any national media coverage of him. The guy gets bashed every time he's talked about.

I don't think we are yet in a position to fairly evaluate Vince yet. Clearly he was hurt last year and unable to run effectively, and this team was built for a running QB. His receiving options are crappy, and the only way a qb can succeed with this core is to scramble and buy time for them to get open. If he cannot run, they cannot succeed. His best WR in his first 3 seasons has been Drew Bennett-the same guy that signed a huge contract and got buried on the depth chart in StL. He was clearly better than any of the current guys, which logic would dictate means that no WR on our current roster would start for any other team in the league since StL was pathetic last year.

A healthy Vince and an average WR core would cause the rest of the league some real problems in my opinion.

Really? Exactly who, other than UT fans, have him rated higher than he should be????

The answer is nobody. Vince Young is NOT overrated.
