it's how the system works at the end

the guy who goes gets the honor; and good for him, it shouldnt be more or less

he might need it someday for a future contract or - if he somehow does become a borderline good player - pro bowls can determine/make or break whether you get into hall of fame or not

(oh, and the 9 other guys, that's what the next guys supporters are saying, count a little better, VY was like 4th or 5th, someone would have to look it up for me; but seriously, no reason to be a hater, a player got an honor, good for him and congratulations; that's about all that should be said)

I disagree with this assertion. First, because impulse is defined as the change of momentum of an object(in a time interval) as well as the net force on an object through that time interval. Or ∫dp/dt dt = ∫F dt

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Impulse

Thus since a moving object (object possessing large momentum) would be stopped almost instantaneously (short time interval) it would necessarily have a larger force acting upon it then if it were stopped without moving at all.

More critical is where the blow lands on the body, and that advantage does go to a moving player making it harder for a defender to land a direct blow.

Its interesting that people denigrate guys going to the Pro Bowl because they are alternates. But whether the alternate if VY or KVB or any other player, they are in that position because a combination of fans, players and others saw them as good enough to attend the game if their turn came up. All voters know alternates will take part because "starters" drop out in large numbers every year so they have to take all their votes seriously. Clearly, since all Titans are saddled with the small fan base voting for them, if they make it to the Pro Bowl its because the professionals that vote think they are good at what they do.

Oh well, leave it to the negative types to find an excuse to bash out of a situation that actually represents a nice honor for the various players.

How did that change turn out for the Vikings, with a veteran QB making a rookie mistake at the biggest moment of the game?

To kill VY and Sanchez for being a small piece on teams with great running attacks and defences then praising Farve who is in the exact same situation is ludacrious. Look how Farve did on Sanchez's Jets last year. But it's alot easier to buy into what the talking heads of the media are pushing than to actually pay attention to the play on the field.

VY and Sanchez may not top QBs yet, there are very few ELITE QBs and for every Manning and Brady there are tons of Couchs and other losers. Saying they need to be replaced is alot easier said then done.

i don't think we need to worry about how much CJ has left in the tank for next yr but a couple of yrs down the road this will definetly be a concern.

the same can be said for cornerbacks as well. we all talk about how the titans need a cornerback opposite of finnegan but how many shutdown CB's do we have in the NFL??? Revis and ????? good cornerbacks and quarterbacks are very hard to find......

The answer to your question is on post #11 of this thread. VY was #7 choice.

They also announced Garrard will be taking Mannings spot.

Young, Schaub and Garrard. Unequivocally the worst three man arsenal of Pro Bowl QB's that will ever play in the Pro Bowl game for the same team. EVER! Vegas must have the NFC as 35 point favorites.

well the bright side is goodell will learn that holding the pro bowl the week before the super bowl and in the same city isn't going to make it a more watched, better, or more lucrative game
