If they voted after the Rose Bowl? The Heisman is for the BEST PLAYER OF THE YEAR. Not best player of the Rose Bowl. That's like saying, well Joseph Addai would have won Rookie of the Year - IF they voted after the Superbowl.
Vince didn't deserve it, and that's why he got killed in the voting. Reggie Bush was by far the most impressive player in college football that year. Take the rose colored glasses off.

Reggie Bush didn't deserve it because he was living the high life in his penthouse while every other blue chipper was eating ramen noodles. He had a competitive advantage. The rules are in place to level the playing field.

hes still got to perform. Hes still got to work out. If he was sitting in his penthouse the whole time, doing nothign than he woulda got nothing on the field. He acutally did work out with Ladanian Tomlinson b4 his junior year. and if you havnt heard its the most gruelling thing ever. So give credt to the guy for performing but behind closed doors was wrong.(if convicted)

Are you kidding me? I bet Vince was driving a Ford Escort around campus, huh? I bet he was wearing hand-me-downs too, right?
ALL superstar athletes are given things. Someone just turned their back on Reggie.

Ramen noodles. You can't be serious. These kids have no job, and are sporting the best clothes and cars. Yet you think Reggie was living the high life while the others were digging in the couch for pennies? lol

oh, and either way. Diamond ear rings werent scoring reggies touchdowns. It's irrelevant. And I know, you're probably a UT fan, so your Vince hype is understood, but c'mon man.

Nope. Hate UT. Houston Cougar fan. But I love our QB.

Regardess, players perform much better when they are being paid to perform than when they are not. It's just reality. The previous poster mentions hard work. And it's probaby true, Reggie did work his *** off, cause he was getting paid to do it. He had the incentives that other players don't have.

There is no room in amatuer sports for compensation like that. I think less of Reggie Bush for that. His karma has definately taken a hit. Wouldn't surprise me to see him out of the league in 3-4 years.

agreed, I think Bush is just another big hit away from a career ending injury..

he reminds me of a more fragile, suckier Brian Westbrook

Once again guys - ALL college stars take handouts. Usually, nothing is said though.
So stop acting like Reggie was playing harder to get things, while Vince wasn't influenced by the free Diamond Ear Rings he was wearing during his games.

The Rose Bowl is part of the season. With that considered, Vince had a better season.
