Sports Illustrated released their list of the highest earning athletes in America (including endorsements). Vince Young is the 4th highest earning football player (behind Peyton, Vick and Favre). He is the 34th highest paid athlete overall.

Wow. I didn't expect him to be anywhere near that high. There's no way he's the 4th best player in the NFL. The league really needs to do something to get rookie contracts under control.

Cool--good for him. I don't remember seeing him on any major commercials. I wonder what all of his endorsements are for?

Most of Vince's money came through endorsements, I'm sure. And why is Vick on there?

torontotitanfan you need to realize that includes endorsements also. He's not the 4th highest contract in the nfl. I'm sure most of it comes from madden though, surely madden cover gets a lot of money.

Not that much. It is in the $100,000 area I think.

Though he picks up a good pay check from the Titans, it's mostly endorsements.

Of course the list includes endorsements, but in Vince's case endorsements are less than 1/3 of his total income. He has a HUGE salary.

Here's a link to the article so you can see for yourself. I forgot to include it in my first post. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/more/specials/fortunate50/2007/

My question is this: did the Titans front-load his contract so that he'll be cheaper in his prime? This seems smart to me, since it would allow the team to grab a few extra missing pieces (like the Patriots did with Randy Moss this year) and make a run at the title.
