Torn ACL and 32 scares me. But, if it's a fair contract i'd be more than willing. If he's expecting a payday, hopefully he gets it from another team. He's still a good player, but he's on the downside of his career.

We really have some good DTs, I really don't want to take one off the field. I believe Casey can be a staple regardless the formation. In 4-3 he's a monster. In 3-4 I think he can be our Ngata.

I also really like Martin, although I doubt he can be an end in 3-4. I hope he sees more time b/c I was very impressed with him in year 1 (and for some reason in year 2 he didn't play as much.)

Al Woods is a good 3-4 end and can maybe play tackle in 4-3.

RP is a 3-4 end. He is also an end in 4-3 (run D) packages.

Hill was injured and I think he's better than we know - or at least I'm hoping so. I think he might be able to play NT as well.

But for NT, I'd rather Hatcher than Wooly, although Vince is a player I really really like; very big and old dudes coming off big leg injuries is extremely risky (especially when they will cost money). But I'm worried Hatcher's huge sack numbers mean neither will be cheap. Cutting hill might not be an option (dead money, cap or whatever) to get one of these true NTs, and also Hatcher/Wooly are much older than Hill and I want to give Sammie a chance.

At this point though, if we are going to spend money, I want us to get a pass rushing hybrid DE / LB who can stay on the field regardless the formation, not another DT or 'heavy' DE. This was our biggest need and we havn't filled it yet. Even if we go with it in the draft (which I fully expect it), I still wouldn't mind a FA who can do the same.

Morgan is still the starter @ end in 4-3 for sure. I also like DM standing up in 3-4 as a pass rusher (and even run stuffer), I want to see what that does for him. I watched him a lot, and he often had the responsibility to 'push the tackle' and hold the spot, instead of 'rush.' They really made him keep his lane and didn't give him a chance to get after the QB as often as I wanted to see. We all know he is very good at run D, I'd like to see what he can do when they 'pin his ears' over making him a gap controller.

He was born a Patriot, raised a Patriot, and should die a Patriot.

I can't see him being anything special in another system.

Maybe not. Not a lot of interest for Raji so far.
