Put aside the money and "future of the franchise" issues. Right now Kerry is better at dropping back and throwing a quick pass if someone is open. He is above average at not forcing what is not there. He is below average at creating plays, and he is terrible at minimizing damage if something breaks down. He often gets sacked, fumbles, etc. The better guy for us is the one that keeps our plodding offense moving forward. We cannot overcome negative plays to sustain drives, with either QB.

Kerry passed for a lot of yards against Houston, but he had an extraordinary number of possessions due to 3 Qs of astounding defense, an excellent rushing attack, and he only had to drive 20 yards at a time to give Bironas an attempt. He did not create anything, but I honestly commend him for only handing one TD to the defense. That was not his fault. Solid job driving the slow, lumbering, two-toned car.

As a side note, I have seen Vince hit walls before. He overcomes them. He is not mentally fragile, so do not worry about him irreparably "losing his confidence." The important thing now is for Chow to get him doing things he is comfortable doing. Regaining his infectious confidence is more important than executing any particular play or throw.

That won't be easy with his bad wheel, because he won't be extending as many drives with his legs and giving himself more opportunities to get into a rhythm.

So, granted, when he hits a wall can look a little ugly - his frustration is apparent right now, and he has never had to deal with an injury like this before. He has a bad wheel and no chemistry with his receivers. Pretty fatal, given what his value is for this team: scrambling and manufacturing a way for our below average WRs to get open. Without a reliable, go-to receiver, Vince has to stay upright long enough to see someone break free. That is not happening now.

But as he progresses in the passing game and his thigh heals, I predict that his game will see what will seem like sudden, unbelievable improvement. I think in reality his value is dependent on simultaneously being a complete threat that defenses must account for, keeping drives alive with his legs, and making his teammates believe he will always, somehow, make the play. All facets of his game suffer when one of them does, at least at this stage.

Looking back, I forgot to make clear that Vince is the guy in the 1st paragraph who will keep our offense moving forward, for the time being.

We know how jeff fisher feels about this so our opinions obviously won't matter.

There is no QB controversy and won't be one. Vince is the guy. But, as childress has said we can be frustrated even if it is in victory.

The NFL is a "whole different level." Having watched VY in a couple of Madison High School games and then watch him adjust to the college level
(and move the Starter to the bench ) and take over, I don't think you will be wanting Kerry or anyone else on the field at "Quaw-Tah- Back..."

Vince is taking his lumps and we are winning, that is something not many QBs get the chance to do. When Vince is in the game it makes everyones job easier except for our receivers. Fact is our receivers make Vince's job a lot tougher. For that he has to continue to be in there, since he knows our receivers suck so bad it makes him a better QB knowing that he has to be almost perfect for them to even catch the damn ball.

He will get better when they get better. The future is still bright with Vince.
