If he can pull off 130+ rushing and 40+ catching a game, it will be 53m well spent imo.

on many of his runs it doesnt seem like the o line gets to the second level to make blocks. CJ looked bad at first but he got 130 which is a good number. The second half he looked better, breaking tackles but the oline was getting to the second level. It has to be a collective effort. I like the run plays in the second half better too. They need to do more sweeps, misdirection and off tackle. No inside runs!

 

It's sad even on some of those longer runs he didn't look like the fast CJ2k. Idk if he's just not trying or he lost some speed or what maybe I'm just crazy

 

He's definitely not "elite" in the speed category anymore. He looks about Cedric Benson slow on those longer runs.

I liked what The Onion had on their ticker the other day:

"Chris Johnson breaks own legs to re-learn how to run from scratch"

It is really weird how he got so much slower so fast. He lost a step last year and it was evident, but now it's like he lost 3 steps.

 

He's still the first guy to the edge on several of the plays on that video so he's still a serviceable runningback..

 

Why is everyone saying Deuce's post sucks?

CJ looks far slower than he was last year and the year before. He's probably still serviceable but he's nowhere near elite.

Duece gets an it sucks for making his usual outrageous comment. Any idiot can see he is faster than Cedric Benson.

What about that long pass play where he ran right past the linebacker? Slow?

 

With all the bashing this year i would like to give CJ some credit.

He is a tough guy. He took a mega hit and just readjusted his helmet and went back to the huddle. He is only 195 lbs but he has always been durable and rarely misses a game.
