Notwithstanding that "Chow is known for being very tempermental and changing his mind on things," we learned a day and a have ago he had verballing committed to be the head coach of UCLA next season.

However, today Chow publicly pulled his name out of the race . . . after UCLA's Chancellor wouldn't meet with him.

Heard it just now on 104.5 The Zone as well.

Usually, when a candidate withdraws their name, it's because that team is close to signing someone else. I suspect he knew he wasn't being strongly considered so bailed.

Man. The only good news would be that he pulled once he heard that UCLA was going to hire Jim Schwartz.
