    Explain why Carr is so much better than McCourty? Note that McCourty's FA value is going to be based on having as good or better year than he had last season. They are similar players. Carr certainly hasn't graded out as one of the top CBs in the league.

    I always facepalm at the suggestion that the Titans can somehow trick their players into signing for half their market value because those players aren't rich yet and they will jump at any money.

    Players have agents. Agents know the market. They advise their players. Players listen.

    Tricking McCourty into signing for a fraction of what he's actually worth isn't a possibility. He knows he has the leverage in this situation and he can just wait it out and then get his big payday.

    The best we can hope for is that he meets the Titans halfway. There will be no bargain, however.

    I think the Titans like McCourty more than Finnegan. Theyll pay J-Mac IMO

    As for the JMac over Finny, you might be right. In terms of the word 'like' as you said, I can see them saying JMac over Finny.

    But I think it has more to do with the other players we have at CB. To be honest even with Finny gone, JMac, ATV, Hawk, Tommie, and Coty sound like a rock solid young(er) group going forward.

    Give these guys some form of pass rush infront and just a tad of 'over the top' help and I still believe your talking about a potentially elite group of CBs.

    That money that would have gone to Finny is in reserve for helping resign players and/or signing an impact linemen next year (in the event we still can't do ish up front).
