Velasco to receive Tender

He earned it. Anybody was an upgrade at C over Amano. Give Fernando credit though, he was pretty solid. Hutch and Leroy were weak links and hopefully both will be replaced.

Front office making all the right moves, kind of optimistic about this week.

It certainly appears that way. I hope we're not disappointed tomorrow.

If we get Levitre and a couple other guys we've been rumored around then we're popping bottles.

Oh yeah no doubt. I really hope that our FO is being aggressive because it's the right thing to do and not just because they're on the hot seat. Either way though, I'm glad they're not wasting time and waiting for the second wave of FA to come around before going after guys.

I'm glad we're being aggressive this year since we have the cap space. If we get 2-3 of these guys we're rumored around and have another nice draft like the past couple years then we're competing for the playoffs. (As long as we're healthy and Locker produces more.)

Also I love Velasco so this really is a win-win for us. If we keep him, we have a really good Center. If he leaves, we get a 2nd round pick. I don't think anyone is going to give that up though, he probably stays.

The Titans have placed a second-round tender on offensive lineman Fernando Velasco, the team’s lone restricted free agent.

Velasco, who started all 16 games last season, is scheduled to make $2.023 million in 2013. If another team tries to sign him to an offer sheet and the Titans opt not to match, they’d receive a second-round pick as compensation.

Velasco has played in 49 games with the Titans since 2008, including 19 starts.
