    yap...yap...yap......

Championship teams make championship plays when it counts. Tennessee played a hell of a defensive game and yes MCELROY struggled. Alabama's offense IS better than they performed today but quit trying to take credit away from a superb effort by MONTE KIFFIN and TENNESSEE.

Florida went on a win a national championship after blocking a South Carolina potential game winner.

Get over it. ALABAMA STAYS IN THE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP PICTURE.

btw- that was one hell of a on-side kick.

I'll tell you what Deuce, that wasn't the same Crompton that was playing at the beginning of the year. His throws were EXTREMELY accurate. He has had some really good coaching.

A kicker kicking a ball in to a STANDING lineman isn't due to a championship team "making a championship play". And let's not use that C word until they actually win something- and I highly doubt they have a shot of even getting a chance to play in the big game after seeing them play a few times.

That's like a bad snap ending a game and claiming the defense had something to do with it. Sorry. Not the case. The guy was kicking it low all game- Alabama did NOTHING that no other kicking unit does every down. They didn't penetrate deep for the block- the guy just kicked it right in to a guy's arm pit.

Hate to agree with Gloat but I do. Alabama is EXTREMELY lucky to come out of today with a win.

Lincoln has had a quad injury all year and tweaked it during pregame, but he is all we got right now. We did get a commit from the #1 place kicker in the country. UT just doesn't have the depth right now, but it is coming. With this staff and the classes they are putting together, the future looks sunshiny orange.

    for once poor Crompton ....

Our OLine looked horrendous and congrats to Bama' for making plays when it counted. They were lucky to survive though.

Just seen the highlights to the end of this game, poor Vols.. that looked like something that would happen to the Titans.

But in the end Great Teams dont make these mistakes. It was the most important play of the game and the kicker wasn't using his brain. Almost doesn't count.

Deuce- no doubt Bama survived and they weren't very sharp. That was partly due to OUTSTANDING gameplanning by Monte Kiffin and VERY GOOD play by Crompton.

Almost every college team that goes all the way survives one during their season. Alabama blocked that kick, it wasn't just a miss- so Alabama DID make an excellent play to survive.

Although you don't like it, Alabama does still control their own destiny. But I do agree with you, McElroy has to play better if they are going to beat LSU, Auburn and possibly Florida if they both make it to the SEC championship.

One last point- the final score of a game is the sum of the game's events- not luck. There are countless hypotheticals that could have swung the score in a number of ways. Alabama came out on top in the end.

I told you that John Crompton would get it done today but you guys called me crazy. Maybe he didn't put up 42 but Crompton did his job and that's the most you can ask for him. It's a tough loss and even though its an L on the record, you went on the road and outplayed the #1 team in the country. With this being Lane Kiffins first season, you can see the tide (excuse the pun) is turning in the SEC and UT will be a force to be reckoned with.

Very well played game by UT. I was expecting some sort of a route...but since it was so close, and frankly, UT should've won..I'm heartbroken. They beat the #1 or #2 team in the country both offensively and defensively, just fell a little short on the scoreboard...but I'll take it. Special teams and penalties killed us, but Kiffin will hit the recruiting trail running and have this team competing for an SEC Championship within the next 2 years. The loss hurts bad but it is something to build on. And I will say this: Florida, Alabama, and Georgia have all 3 been punched in the mouth by an overmatched UT team. When the talent evens out...watch out.

After today, I'm starting to side with Gloat. McElroy sucks. If you can slow down Ingram, Bammer is very beatable. With that being said, I'm not sure too many teams can slow him down. I think a Texas/Bama match-up would be a very good one.

PS -- 12 UT penalties to Bama's 1. The conspiracies are churning. Could the SEC be protecting their "big 2" to get them both into the BCS?? That means biiiiiig $$$ for the conference. And no, I'm not making excuses nor am I saying this is happening. Just food for thought that officiating has been very dicey lately...and the calls have been overwhelmingly going in the big boys' favor.
