Clay Matthews and Patrick Turner among the good times. Cary Harris, otoh....

    From NFL.com:

"NFL Network draft analyst Mike Mayock reports the following 40-yard dash times at USC’s pro day:

LB Kaluka Maiava: 4.68; LB Clay Matthews: 4.57; DE Kyle Moore: 4.76; LB Brian Cushing: 4.68; CB Cary Harris: 4.89; WR Patrick Turner: 4.63; S Kevin Ellison: 4.70.

Mayock also reports that QB Mark Sanchez did not run a 40 and that LB Rey Maualuga will run his later in the day."

Another example of how to get fat on pro day.

Every single player that ran in the combine posted a better time on pro day. In some cases they did a lot better!

    Matthews
    combine time 4.67
    Pro day 4.57

    Maiva
    Combine 4.83
    Pro day 4.68

    Moore
    Combine 4.90
    Pro day 4.76

    Cushing
    Combine 4.74
    Pro day 4.67

    Ellison
    Combine 4.87
    Pro day 4.70

That's an average improvement of 1.26 tenths of a second. A huge difference!

What is the value in this? Does this mean that reggie bush's 4.34 on pro day would have been 4.46 at the combine?

If moore ran a 4.90 at the combine and improved by .14 on pro day can i assume that any other player who ran a 4.90 at the combine would have run a 4.76 at the southern cal pro day? Robert ayers perhaps?

Some more 38.5 yard pro day times..

Texas DT miller inproved his combine 40 from 4.98 to 4.80. Only a .18 improvement.

Want a kick but 40 time? Don't run at the combine and go to the penn state pro day.

Aaron maybin ran a 4.89 at the combine and took a vitamin and ran a 4.59 at his pro day. Only a 3 tenth difference happens all the time. Must have been jogging in indy.

Perhaps staying ahead (or trying to) of the banned substance list? Check out the post about UTK's pro day at the end of that thread. The times these dudes were posting...ridiculous...the most athletic bunch a' who-dats in the nation.

Something screwy is definitely going on this year. They say they changed the track in Indy to a different field turf? thus making it a slower track. But really, the track seemed slow by group, and seemed to be less stunningly awful as the Combine went along. Maybe adjustments were made. And now maybe some feel they have to do something to make up for it.

I wouldn't touch Maybin, but I felt that way before. He looks like somebodies got in his head: "Yeah. You looked real cute running around with them kids in college. You want to bang with the big boys? Get that big time money? Well then you need to blow up. Feel me?" I mean, Maybin really Bill Bixbyed/ Lou Ferrignoed in those pictures.

And weirdly, though you expect faster pro day tracks, it's really not that the colleges can flub the numbers since teams have their own personnel on hand to document as well, which could support some enhancement usage, but not everywhere, I'm sure.

I can't recall a year where the discrepancies between workouts has been so large. It's crazy.

Nah. The right trainer can easily have you add 12lbs a month in muscle while dropping fat.
All about the diet and discipline. In fact, I bet I know the exact plan he was on.

Most people aren't headstrong enough to abide by the grocery list though. This guy's body looks legit though. Doesn't resemble a steroid user's at all. Not enough water-weight.
