I like Harvey (Go Gators!), but doubt the Titans are going to draft him in the first round... but this is from Todd McShay of ESPN today...

"For all the 40 fanatics out there, Florida DE Derrick Harvey looked like he had a poor workout, clocking in at just 4.81. And his vertical jump of 28.5 inches is troublesome as well. However, a deeper look reveals that Harvey actually had a relatively strong showing on Monday. Though he did run a 4.8 that's just .03 behind Virginia's Chris Long (4.78), he had the same 10-yard split as Long. Remember, the 10-yard split is important when evaluating defensive linemen because it's a good indication of how fast a player can get to the quarterback. In addition, the 271-pound Harvey moved like a linebacker during drills and put up 30 reps on the bench."

You guys if you haven't already should go to NFL.com an watch the videos of the recaps, 40, lifting of the DL. They also show some of them running a few drills. After seeing that there is no way I want Campbell. He is almost too tall, looks stiff and not agile and he is a long strider. One of the most impressive to me was Laws, a DT who ran a sub 5.0 40, bench 35 and was impressive in drills.

The best DE package is Gholston IMO. Big enough to play DE in a 4-3, one of the strongest DEs and very athletic. Of course he and Long will be long gone when we pick but if I had an early pick I'm not sure I wouldn't take Gholston over Long.

I agree with Wash 100%. At #24 I'm not sure there is a DE who would be worth the pick. Balmer and Laws aren't real good value at #24 either although I like them better than any of the DEs. Watching the workouts on video the DEs are exactly what Wash said they were. After Long and Gholston the guys aren't even in Odom's league. So much for easily drafting Odom's replacement.

I think this class has some decent players but guys like Campbell and Balmer are overrated in my mind.

I like Trevor Laws, Marcus Harrison, and Dre Moore they all are solid DT's worthy of a round 2 or 3 selection.

They Ends I would consider for us considering Merling and Harvey are gone would be Kenny Iwebema day 2, Jason Jones, Tommy Blake or Chris Ellis but it's a pretty slim DL year.

Too lazy to look right now, but where is Long projected. He really impressed me with his play.

Looks like he ran his way right into the second round, esp after having a mediocre season. I still wouldnt mind having him in the second
