I have a feeling that very few who will vote have ever heard an UT song. How very sad...

If that is the essence of that band, no way the compete with van halen. EVH was an innovator and a virtuoso, these guys sound like a decent local bar band.

Different types of music. UT was the band that is credited for ushering in alt-country. The band is idolized in that genre. Out of UT came Wilco and Son Volt. Two equally influential bands. I'd suggest listening to some of their songs.

I "get" criticism of Americana etc but there is quite a bit of gold to be mined from the Wilco/UT records. Son Volt personally to a lesser extent. We've discussed this before. I'm a huge early Old 97's fan and obviously the more rocking honky tonk types like Unknown Hinson up to The Supersuckers country stuff.

@Tuckfro42 are you a fan of the Ween country record? I literally cannot stop laughing whenever I hear Mohamed Ali monologging over Powder Blue..
