    Your nerd vice doesn't involve shooting anything, it involves pretending to be someone shooting something. No difference. (granted, the extreme Trek freaks are something else, the ones who actually learn the languages and dress up)

    Anyway, I decided on Star Trek, based on the collective opinion. As my first Trek experience, movie or TV, it was pretty decent. At the least, it was an entertaining summer action movie.

    havent seen any of them so i cant say anything...however...i did pick up shooter on blu ray.. that is a great movie

    I have never pretended to be a game character lol. Besides- you don't see gears of war or call of duty conventions where nerds get together dressed like their favorite character.
    It has nothing to do with caring about popularity. (isn't star trek popular right now?) It has to do with being entertained- and slamming my wiener in a preheated oven would be more fun than a Star Trek film.
