I recall seeing this one other time when The Cowboys played Washington several years back. What's with both teams apparently wearing home jerseys?

Well, it is an alternate- but should still be considered a home alt. My only guess is that since the contrasts are so apparent- that maybe the NFL felt it was ok.

Or Jerry Jones just pulled a Jerry Jones and said FU, we're wearing these! Send me the bill!

Just for the record, the white jersey's are the ones that Dallas wears at home...

As was the case with The Dolphins for years and years (who knows now) but visiting teams always wore their dark jerseys at Dallas or Miami thus one dark/one white.
Yesterday was the rare dark/dark day.. How is it that Dallas is able to do this and non=body else..

The reason for this is pretty simple.

The Chiefs wanted to wear throwback Dallas Texans uniforms. Since it was a home game for them, they wanted to wear throwback home (red) uniforms.

The Cowboys then decided that they also wanted to wear throwbacks to make it a throwback vs. throwback game. The Cowboys only have dark throwbacks, though (because only AFL teams are allowed to have both white and dark throwbacks and the Cowboys have had those dark throwbacks for several years now, so they are all they have).

So they asked the league for permission for a dark vs. dark game. Since the uniforms are contrasting enough, it was approved.
