Training Camp Battles

    Okay, it's offseason. I plan on starting a series of polls on who will win the training camp battles for a number of our positions. We have a heap of positions up for grabs, so every couple of days, I'll post a new poll.

    Some assumptions.

    1. No more FAs to be considered
    2. No pacman (pretty safe)
    3. The following positions are set:

    Starting QB - VY
    Starting FB - Hall
    Left Tackle - Roos
    Left Guard - Bell
    Center - Mawae
    Right Guard - Olsen
    Right Tackle - Stewart
    Left End - KVB
    #1 DT - Albert
    LOLB - Thornton
    ROLB - Bulluck
    SS - Hope
    K - Bironas
    P - Hentrich

    Every other position is up for grabs.

    So the polls we will run are for:

    Starting RB - (WINNER - Chris Brown)
    #1 WR - (WINNER - Brandon Jones)
    #2 WR - (WINNER - Justin Gage)
    #1 TE - (WINNER - Ben Troupe)
    #2 DT - (WINNER - Randy Starks)
    Starting RE - (WINNER - Antwan Odom)
    MLB - (WINNER - Stephen Tulloch)
    #1 CB - (WINNER - Nick Harper)
    #2 CB - (WINNER - Cortland Finnegan)
    FS - (WINNER - Michael Griffin)

    KR - (WINNER - Cortland Finnegan)
    PR - (WINNER - Chris Davis)
    Slot WR -(WINER - Chris Davis)
    Nickel CB - (WINNER - Kelly Herndon)
    #2 RB - (WINNER - Lendale White)
    #2 QB - (WINNER - Tim Rattay)





    Feel free to suggest any changes and I can update this list, but for now - that's what we're going with. The Starting RB poll is up now.

    You also forgot TE, or is that a misprint? Anyway, it should stand up to be a pretty good fight in itself.

    I know it's minor for most people, but I'm really interested in the backup OLB. I'm worried about our depth there. If Thornton or Bulluck goes down, we have no one really. I mean Gardner's alright, but who else? Nande? Will he even make the team?

    Bulluckfan..

    If bulluck or thornton go down it will be important to have a solid fill in. That's a good point. We did sign an OLB in lavar woods early in the free agent process but mainly for special teams and reynolds is still here. If thornton goes down we can use either reynolds or our backup MLB and if bulluck goes down woods would be considered. Woods has more experience than nande.
