With the sudden departure of Josh Norman, the Panthers now have a gaping hole in their secondary. The current CB starters are slated to be Bene Benwikere, Robert Mclain and Ras-I Dowling.

    "Who?" You say. Exactly.

Picking at #30, most if not all of the starter ready CB's will be gone for them. But. At #15 they would likely have their pick of anyone except Hargreaves. And even he might still be there.

Carolina is in "win now" mode and Im wondering just how far they'd go to trade picks with us. Their 1st, 2nd, and 3rd wouldnt cut it since they're at the bottom of the rounds. But what about either:

    A) their 1st(#30) and 2nd(#63) this year plus a 2017 2nd.
    Or
    B) their 1st this year and their 2017 1st.

Would those be worth trading down to 30?

I'd want a whole lot more than their 1st and 2nd plus next years 2nd or two firsts.

I think getting their first next year would be worthwhile because I think they'll struggle.

Mathematically those trades both make sense, I like option B more than option A, but I like being at 15 with some ability to move into the top 10.

If no one we like is there at 15, then by all means trade down and get a 3rd first rounder for 2017.

I think we should just call the trade game won.

Only for their 1st, 2nd, 4th, and next year's 1st. I'd give up 15 and the Rams' 3rd next year. Remember, the pick we got form the Rams could be a compensatory pick at the end of the third.

I'd prefer having more picks next year than this year. You can only add so many young players in one offseason.

Move up or move down. I don't care, just move. The talent at 15 sucks. The drop-off after 12 is significant and the difference in talent between 15 and 25 is negligible.

I love how everyone is like the talent falls off after so and so picks like they know how this draft is going to play out not only on draft day but a few years from now when we can actually evaluate it
