Smith isnt terrible, but hes nothing to think puts us over the top

almost rather see us trade for a competent LG, but no one is trading out linemen right now

 

Look at it this way. We traded away DGB, released Hunter, lost AJ.
McBride and Douglas obviously aren't the answer or they would be making one of those moves to replace AJ's spot.
Smith is an upgrade from those 5 imo

 

I'm not worried about what the compensation would be. It'd be a very late pick. I'd want to see Smith re-structure that ridiculous contract of his.

 

Maybe so, but you have to see the old big picture. We are humming along now, guys are playing together, team has some chemistry. It would be safer to bring up McBride and just even have him on ST and some fill in work then to bring in a new person to the system. Fox in the henhouse when you bring in a supposed #1.

 

I see your point but Smith is not a 1. And he brings something than the others. So they all would have different roles.
