    The only guy on that list I would consider is Josh McCown. He is a promising young QB and signing him means we can release McNair, save 10 million on the CAP (part of which would go to McCown) and trade down our #3 for multiple picks to fill our gaps at LB and S. If Reese and Fisher were really serious about short term fixes that would be the way to go. If they get lucky and McCown turns out to be real good they get a solid QB at a reasonable price. Kitna could be a good stop gap signing if we trade Volek and release McNair. Kitna can be our QB while the rookie gets groomed. None of the others are worth the cost or we don't need.

    1st of all, why is it a forgone conclusion that Peterson is going to demand a high number ?

    he had quite the injury in '04 and did very little in '05

    he should be quite economical

    Now there's another young, bigname in the FA. Arrington has been released by the Redskins. He is a bit controversial and might demand a big contracts, but I love his play on the field. The 'Skins defense is a bit more complicated than ours, so he might actually have a chance to get to know it :ha:
