No Critical Theory, you should compile a list of the best LB for each season going backward and award mutliple season titles if need be...then by the time you go back 17 or so seasons you might have 10 names. That's the way you should do your list. Be sure to have Peter Sirmon on that list too.

Unless he's ONLY doing LB's drafted since 1995, then where is Derrick Thomas? I'd put him above any on that list, even Ray Ray, the criminal.

Derrick Brooks is one of the top 2 or 3 linebackers of all time. He's definately better than Ray Ray imo.

Thomas was heads and shoulders above the rest.
Also I would not have Lewis as the top LB of the past 10 years. Sure his career started off HoF bound, but has dropped off significantly in the past 3-4 years. Zack Thomas would be #1 on my list. Consistent each year and at the top of the game each year as well.

saw a Cheifs game a couple of years ago where the Chiefs O audibled depending on where ZT was. IF he was near the LoS they ran right at him, and if he was a few yards off they either ran away from him or threw. Chiefs dominated the Fish with the tatic.

Derrick Thomas was a great sack master, but he was really just a one trick pony. He never broke 100 tackles in a season. Measure that against Zack Thomas or Derrick Brooks, who average close to 150. Ray Lewis is up there, but Zack and Derrick have been much more consistant over the course of their careers. Let's face it, before Derrick was drafted by Tampa, they were nothing. He and Sapp single handedly made them one of the top defenses for the last decade. Brooks is still going strong more than 10 years later, which is very rare for a linebacker (see Ray Lewis in all of his current mediocrity). It's kinda funny that lb's are heavily drafted on size, yet some of the best linebackers of all time didn't have adequate size (by today's standards).
