Tom Petty vs Funkadelic/Parliament CLOSED

Of course fans of a small market southern football team are going to like the generic sounds of Jeff Lynne fronted by an ugly dude from Gainesville.

"Damn The Torpedos" may have been pretty good at the time it came out but everything since then has been entirely fraudulent. Meanwhile just about every minute of PFunk has been sampled for hip hop.

 

Lol.. there are too many honkies on this board to give Parliament a fair shake. Im sure Petty will be the clear winner

 

Some may claim that I am biased, but..I HAVE played the James Brown Amphitheater in Augusta and I usually do Halloween as Bootsy Collins.

 

Pretty sure Lynne didn't hook up with Petty until like '88 or '89. That's ten years after "Damn the Torpedos." Petty did plenty without co-writing with Lynne.

 

I never hear any of it. Wonder why?

BTW I'm also pissed about the Petty/ Sam Smith debacle, no matter how much he backpedals from it...primarily because he had just released a blatant plagiarism of Zeppelin's "When the Levee Breaks" in "Last Time You're Gonna Hurt Me".
