I don't think Locker's contract is too big.

Johnson: 5yr/41mil (+ 2mil signing bonus every year)
    Hasselbeck: 2yr/11mil
    Morgan: 3yr/3.5mil
    Locker: 4yr/$12.6 million

Those are the deals that each player has left, outside of Johnson, none of them are "huge contracts"

We could sign every defensive free agent we have to new contracts and pay them more, and we still wouldn't have a player that is feared or demands a double team.If Mario Williams becomes available,I would break the bank to get him if he checks out medically. He instantly brings a pass rush, while demanding chips and extra attention.Thats makes morgan and possibly jones have 1 on 1s while giving the QB a lot less time to throw which helps in the secondary. He just fits what we want to do on defense. The alternative is signing mid-tier guys and hoping we can draft a couple good prospects.

Excluding Morgan. I would say that the other contracts are well worth the investment.

I'm starting to like the idea of pursuing Mario more and more. Sign him, bring back J. Jones AND take best DL available at #20. FTW!

The strength of the DL in this class is DT. DEs will be drafted on projected future production. Or for scheme. The 34 scheme has more options at LB in this draft than 43 DEs.

DT class is strength tho. Brockers, Still, Worthy, Thompson, Cox, Martin, Poe, Ta'amu.

We need another inside force as well as a DE. But DTs are abundant, DEs are gonna be reaches.

Do you think Still falls to us? I can't see it. I'm one of the guys that prefers to go OL in the 2nd so going DL is the best option. I wouldn't mind Michael Brockers.
