No it doesn't. The new head coach will and should have say in that. Fisher is being fired because of his record as a head coach over 17 years, not because of the Vince situation. 6 winning seasons in 17 years does not cut it in any professional sport for any organization. He has done nothing to justify keeping him on.

Mike Smith, Rex Ryan, John Harbaugh, Mike McCarthy all went through QB changes, all inherited down teams, all in the playoffs this year. 3 out of 4 went to the playoffs year 1 with rookie QBs. Changes do not have to be a negative. It all depends on who the next coach is and what changes are made.

Bud will not hire a coach that will not agree to start VY. Bud=Jerry Jones without the $$.

Place any of those coaches on a team for 17 seasons and see how many times they are able to get to the playoffs.

I actually disagree, and believe it will be the coaches decision. Whether we ever hear about it is one thing, but there are very few coaches who will attach their career to Vince Young as their only option as QB. I think Reinfeldt knows this, and also knows that the 12.7 mil he is owed can go a long way in fixing the holes that are on this roster. Maybe it's wishful thinking, but I hope I'm right because if we are left with VY as our only option we're in trouble.

I agree..mainly because 17 years is too long for any coach to be in one place. You get complacent. I am a HUGE Duke basketball fan, but even Coach K had years where he didn't recruit as well as he has, and has even said that coaching the USA team brought some of that fire back. That happens to anyone who is in any place that long.
I should add that Sean Payton should have been added to that list, he took over a dreadful New Orleans team without a QB, went out and got Brees and the rest is history.

Speaking of Sean Payton, ask the Cowboys how they feel about revolving coach doors.

The 'only option' is a bit deceiving. Any team has more than one option. But if Bud fires Fisher, it will be because he wants to find a coach that can help vince succeed. It won't be to start over at both coach and QB.
