I like both Williams and Davis and if we could slide back a little and get either one and pick up a second I would be pretty darned jacked. I think Trader John has some strategy up his sleeve that will result in recouping a 2nd.

I adjust my discussion of who to take/ will be taken when posting based on that for overall draft discussion not the actual grades. Sorry if I worded that poorly, was dealing with a lot yesterday while posting on my phone

For DL and other Edge rush guys I base it on their performance and who they played against, Allen is so high despite the talent around him because Bama has been rushing 3 or 4 and he's been extremely disruptive and does it against everyone, while Garrett is bumped down because when he faces better competition his performance/production drops off considerably, where the opposite appears true for Barnett.

Williams is over Davis partially due to seeing more of him personally and my opinions on the teams they've faced overall. Davis is the #2 WR on my board right now and he has a top 15 grade. It's also a gut feeling I have about Williams overall.

I'm actually not all that high on Cook, I think he'll be a good back but the run defenses in the ACC aren't good overall IMO and he's still been tackled for loss about 23% of the time. I think he'll be CJ post big contract in the pros basically.

Foster is far more athletic than either of the two former Bama ILBs you mentioned and is built for the pass and the run where the other two were far better against the run. He's stood out in a great defense, which is actually in some ways a major bonu. Cunningham has been great in a defense that is base D on having people working as a unit to cover up lesser talent with respect to their opponents. A guy like Cunningham should stand out in that defense where Foster makes very few mental mistakes while having elite physical tools and technique, Cunningham is an excellent prospect but doesn't have the same level of overall ability.

I agree with you on Foster being a player that stands out on a great defense. I disagree with you on Cook. I think he is going to have a great pro career. He picks up tons of yards after contact, has great vision, and that extra gear. I think he is one of the top players in this draft.

Still loses yards on 1 of every 4.5 carries on average in a conference with weak run defense

Corey Davis > Mike Williams in my opinion. Davis seems like he has "it" and would be a great fit here.

Allen gets single blocked more than any of the first round pass rushers because of their outside pressure...but that doesn't make a difference to you?

Hasn't Garrett roughed up the best tackles he's faced? I think he had a sack against Cam Robinson both times he's faced him? He had a huge game against Tunsil. So who is the great talent he played against that he did not produce?

I disagree. Does Michigan have a bad run D? No. And FSU didn't have a ol to write home about comparatively!

Fournette needs to go to a team with a good OL or he'll look like he has the last two times he faced Bama. Cook needs smaller creases.

We'll find out how athletic Foster is in the combine but are you saying he's a better overall player since he's better against the pass but weaker than them in the run game?[/quote]

I don't knock a player for something that is due to the nature of the position they play when evaluating them at that position. Allen is single blocked a lot because he's a 3-4 end or 3 technique in a 4-3. Due to their positioning relative to the OL and the other players in the defensive formation it requires you to put yourself at a major disadvantage on the line elsewhere to double team them.

Garrett has played well against good OTs, but he has also disappeared against several of them as well as those that weren't that good. He had 70 % of his sacks and a majority of his tackles for loss against non power 5 teams. He also will have a huge game then have 2 slightly above average games after that. I'm not saying he sucks just that he isn't as good as everyone else thinks IMO. I've said I tend to grade players pretty harshly and that's especially true for rush LBs since that is the position I know best having played it primarily.

I think Cook will have a solid to good career, and I agree about his OL. I do however think that he's a boom or bust type runner in the NFL. My opinion on Fornette against Bama is that when you base your entire offense on a single guy, especially a RB, you're going to have a terrible day against Bama because Saban will take that away. A mobile QB may negate that to a degree but LSU has had a terrible pass game. Fornette needs opponents to respect the pass at the next level, but every running back needs that.

On Foster, I'm saying he's better because he's much better against the pass while being even or only slightly behind against the run.

Great watch. I don't know much about Williams but I could easily see JRob falling for Davis. He seems tough, humble, team first , hard working non diva type of dude.

Thx. for posting... He does seem like a JRob guy...I've said that I don't think we will draft a WR early because you build a team from the inside out...but JRob was quoted as saying that we built the lines last yr and now it is time to branch out a little bit...so you never know. If JRob thinks he will be the next Jerry Rice then draft is butt at #5...in JRob I Trust
