Couple of options here IMO. Camp battle and cut the loser is an option for sure. I have a different take on this, could be out in left field, but I will shoot. When we signed DMC, I think we had more in mind for him OFFENSIVELY. I think he will have a career season there and may serve as a limited role in Special Teams. Hes the matchup issue for defenses. Could carry the ball 5 times or so and catch 5-7 passes a game and be in the game much more than that. Having two other trustworthy return men makes sense in this scenario, depending on how much Whiz plans to expand DMCs role in the offense. Just my thinking

Mariani= Good guy, but not enough talent to compete with our receiver corps

Yeah, I agree. This move was made so mccluster doesn't have to. I know he is good at it, but with the contract he has now, no reason to risk injury, ala d will. This gives us two guys ahead who can do punt and kick returns. Plus, Marc can be our 5 wr, he got a lot better last year before the injury. Though, we still need a no. 4 wr. Jordan Matthew round 2!!!

    I like this

He was making strides as a receiver and it would be great to have a spot freed up by letting go of Washington.

I see it as a no lose situation. If he does not make the team the hit will be minimal.
