Titans release returner Mark Jones

Jones looked real good last night but this move does seem to indicate they are looking at adding another WR possibly.

Thought this might have been a joke until I saw the article... at least Paul Williams is gone.

While I'm not particularly concerned about not having Jones, I am wondering who will get the job. Could easily be someone not on the roster yet.

 

I wouldn't be surprised to see someone already on our roster handle returns... but you hit it on the head - no way could this team afford to keep a guy active on Sunday just to be a return man. Too many other good players ahead of him deserving a roster spot.

Obviously Ringer handling KO returns is a great way to squeeze him into the active roster on game days. Punts is another story - Tuff Harris and Mouton are the only people left who have handled punts in the preseason. So that might indicate they have a trade in the works for a dual-duty maybe CB/punt returner or Mouton has healed up very quickly.

 

I think there's a chance we'll see Britt return punts.

More cuts: Casey Cramer, Rockey Boiman and Josh Stamer. No big surprises there. This is a bit of the reason I think this years squad is so good - a lot of the names we'll be seeing this weekend are pretty decent players. Just too deep in too many areas for pretty decent.

I told you guys yesterday that jones wasn't the answer at returner. He has a solid night. But ringer,mouton, and even chris henry could play like that. It would have bee a waste of a roster spot keeping. now im sad about Trappaso lol. He was fun but i gues we don't need. When does craig get hurt?

I think we're headed for another stretch similar to those years between Mason and Pacman..we go through a new returner every year, and nobody pans out. They are complete dumba**es for letting Carr go..a dependable returner.

And by the way, why are people arguing over if it's the 5th or 4th game? Who cares. They all were meaningless either way.
