Titans release Jason McCourty

It's been reported that he refused to take a pay cut to stay...... While I agree that we are not hurting for cap space; you don't just pay a guy starter money for below average play. I should say most teams don't. He has been declining for a couple of years; and really bottomed out the past 2yrs. It was time for a change. Maybe a change of scenery will do him good. A replacement that can cover will certainly do the team good.

You never know. JRob may be clearing space to make a move he has had on the back burner. He could just be cutting a guy who is no longer worth money. Either way it will all work out in the end. Even if the payer that replaces him is not the best; it will not take much to replace the production McCourty provided recently.

 

I think NE does this all the time. Jrob, a former NE guy pulling moves that NE pulls. Not only is that not strange, I think the track record for NE should speak highly for this kind of mentality.

 

Just time to move on man. He was apart of the atrocious play from our secondary all year long. At best he was going to be a rotational player moving forward. I'd rather take the chance on Lattimore paired with the young guys on the roster already. I mean what do we have to lose from being the 31st ranked pass defense last year? I'm waiting patiently for McCain to receive his pink slip next.

He was still the best of a bad group and the only addition we've made is Ryan. This just creates more holes and we might have been able to get something for him during the draft.

**By the way, count me as one who is WAY unimpressed with Lattimore. A guy with an injury history and 1 year of experience, who benefited from a stout defense all around him - no thank you. When I watch him and see his measurables I see Dee Milliner.
